   Snow and Severe Weather

 Eira a thywydd garw

As a school we promote the importance of pupil attendance and that is the reason why we never quickly or willingly decide to shut the school when snow starts to fall. There are many factors that will be taken into account when considering any potential closures due to snow and severe weather conditions. Such factors include;

1. Is our school site safe?

2. Are members of staff able to safely travel to school?

3. What does the weather forecast predict, are snow conditions likely to worsen later in the day?

Once we have considered these three factors (and any other additional factors) we aim to make any decision on opening  before 8am.

We will announce this decision via ParentMail and through our school social media pages.This information is always conveyed to Monmouthshire County Council who will display all schools who are closed on their website www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/school-closures
